Look at these sentences:

 

Positive comparison                           →        Negative comparison

Sue's taller than John  .                         →        John isn't as tall as Sue.

Sue's more intelligent than John.          →        John isn't as intelligent as Sue.

Sue works harder than John.                →        John doesn't work as hard as Sue.

 

Sue's the same age as John.                 →        John is as old as Sue.

 

Now make similar pairs of sentences from the following prompts:

 

Sue / beautiful __________________________                    →        __________________________

 

Sue / good at maths    __________________________        →        __________________________

 

John / happy                __________________________        →        __________________________
