Kitchen help - 1976/7

My first formal job was at the age of fifteen or sixteen. There was a restaurant in the village where I lived called the New Inn. I don't know how I heard about it, probably from my mum or school friends, but I started work there during the school holidays. My job was washing the plates, dishes and kitchen utensils after the lunchtime and night time customers had left. For this very uncomfortable work I received the grand total of £1 per hour! I think that I managed to put up with the rather domineering bosses, low pay and discomfort for about two weeks before handing in my resignation.
