Factory worker

My one and only experience of working with a time clock was at CEP tiles in Stafford. I was in my third year of my Modern Studies course at Stafford University (polytechnic in those days), and the summer holidays were approaching. My flatmate, Stuart, mentioned that he'd heard from Tony, a friend of his, that a ceiling tile factory to the north of the town was looking for temporary workers. Four of us (Stuart, myself, Andy and Mike - Tony was already employed there) arrived at the factory for work not long after the start of the summer break. The factory had closed down for maintenance, and wearing overalls, hard hats and when necessary air filter face masks, our jobs mainly involved cleaning the machinery. One of the more disagreeable tasks was cleaning the inside of a huge boiler, which was big enough to stand up inside. This was extremely dirty and dusty work. However, working with friends made the days fly by and when it was time to pick up my wages at the end of the week, everything was worth it. I think that this job lasted about two or three weeks.
