Welcome!
Viv would like to give a warm welcome to Ana Paula, Beatriz, Gabriela, Patricia Casanova and Patricia Andrade.
Welcome back!
It's nice to see Marcelle and Isabela again after the break in classes.
Congratulations!
Well done to Cleo for passing the beginner level of English!
Good luck!
Viv wishes the best of luck for the future to Luciana Prates, Mariana, Juliana and Anne, who have suspended their English courses.
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday to Cleo (4th May) and Bianca (19th May). In June, two of Viv's students celebrate their birthdays: Lucimar (the 3rd) and Patricia A (the 28th), and in July: Fernanda C (the 3rd), Lilian (the 5th), Marcelle (the 11th), Tita (the 17th), Renata (the 18th) and Cristy (the 25th). Viv will be in England for his birthday on the 5th of June.
Holidays
Don't forget that Viv won't be working on the first of May, and if you aren't coming for your class on Monday the 30th April, please let Viv know in advance.
I will be on holiday from 31st of May until the 3rd of July 2012, so there will be no English classes in June.
Course news
Viv's students will be eliminating and writing out correctly all their Viv's angry page expressions. There will be three other classroom activities before Viv goes on holiday. 1. Everyone will have a vocabulary test, starting with the words on page 48 and working back towards the front of your notebook. Students with two or more pages for each section will only be tested on odd pages (except 'numbers'). 2. Viv's past e-mail activity and 3. Creating/updating student profile pages and exploring Viv's internet web site.
Students who have had over 30 hours of classes and get 15 out of 20 or more in the vocabulary test will win a "Viv's t-shirt". :-)

Students of the month
I have chosen two of my students to be 'student of the month' for this edition of the Newsletter. Marcele Sotenos started her English course at the elementary level in April 2011 and Mariane Dias started in October of the same year. Since then, both students have worked hard on improving their English, their class attendance has been good and they are both getting close to completing the level. Well done Marcele and Mariane! I'm very proud of the progress you have made!
Features
The 'features' section on page two of this newsletter includes two compositions written by my students of the month for this edition.
