Welcome!

Viv would like to welcome Camila, who has just started English classes.

Welcome back!!

Viv is happy to see both Agatha and Cristina Turnes again.

Good luck!

Viv would like to wish Juliana Santos, Luciana Lima, Joana Granato and Claudia the best of luck for the future.

Good luck 2

One of Viv's veterans has suspended her English classes. Elaine Bayma started the intermediate level of English with Viv in Aug. 1999. After successfully completing this level, and spending a year working in France, she went on to the upper-intermediate level and passed the Cambridge First Certificate examination in December 2005. She started an advanced level course in March 2006, which she was unable to complete. However, in the ten years that Viv has known her, her English improved to a level where it's good enough for all her professional and social needs.

Happy Birthday!!

A happy birthday to Elaine for the 14th of May.

Three of Viv's students will celebrate their birthdays in June: Cristina (1st), Lucimar (3rd) and Viviane (18th). In July there will be six birthdays! Renata E & Camila (2nd), Lucia (4th), Marcelle (11th), Tita (17th) and Renata P (18th). Anne's birthday will be on the 28th of August and last but not least, Viv will be celebrating his birthday on the fifth of June!

Holidays!

The Corpus Christi holiday is on the 11th of June, which is a Thursday, so Viv will not be working on the 12th and 13th.

All Viv's students will have a month-long break from classes in July and August. Viv will be going to England on holiday so there will be no classes from the 21st of July to the 26th of August. Viv hasn't seen his English friends and family for four years, so he's looking forward to the trip.

Course news

I'm sure that everyone knows that just coming for classes regularly and on time, is not enough for success in learning a foreign language. It is essential that you dedicate at least as much time as you spend in class to working on your English between classes. An excellent way to do this is by reading simplified books appropriate for your level of English. However, please remember to return the books to Viv if you stop reading them, go on holiday or suspend your classes. It is a service which Viv provides free of charge to his students, but buying the books costs him both time and money. If you lose one of the books, don't worry. You can either buy a replacement or Viv will add the cost of the book to your monthly bill.

Student of the month

My student of the month for this edition is Marcelle, a dentist who started classes in October 2008. She has worked very hard on her English and made excellent progress. Well done!
