Rio de janeiro is a beautiful city. I like living here because we can have a good life even though it’s dangerous.

In this city, we can have fun in all kinds of ways. In February there’s Carnaval. This is a kind of party where you can act like a child again. We start on Friday and finish on the following Sunday. One week to have fun like a child or like a crazy person. People from all over the world want to be here at this time. We wear funny clothes and drink a lot. This is a problem because there are a lot of car accidents because drunk people want to drive. However, when you are responsible you don’t do that.

Rio has a lot of problems, like violent crime, poor people living in shantytowns and beggars living on the street; this is a sad reality, but we have lovely people as well. Everybody here likes receiving tourists. Everybody from all over the world likes “Cariocas”. Only “Paulistas” don’t agree and I don’t know the reason for this, but it’s funny. It’s the same between Brazilians and Argentinian people.

In Rio de Janeiro we can get a good job as it’s a big city, and there are beautiful beaches where you can have fun at weekends as well. We can go out and find friends without spending much money. I think it’s very easy to be happy here, because the weather is perfect. It’s warm enough to go to the beach and in winter it’s cool enough to drink a glass of good wine with a special person.

It’s true that it’s a dangerous city because it’s big, but there are so many good things that you can forget the bad things and have a good life if you are careful.

I really like living in Rio de Janeiro and I will never move to another city.
